Good

Nemeiah seems to believe that there is a greater good to the effort at Tyr’s Hand that overpowers any consideration for her safety. As an example, she prepares now to assist the Bishop Lightwarden in the exorcism of several areas there. When I asked why she did this, she replied that those souls deserved to rest.

I am consistently baffled by this selfless behavior. I do understand applying yourself for a person that you love, or in order to balance justice and strength in the world. But why do these things for the Light? For Right? Do these things solely for the betterment of souls condemned to the same purgatory of undeath, just because they ‘deserve’ rest? This does not calculate. If these Forsaken holy people exert the power of the Light, it injures them. They contend with beings not dissimilar to themselves.  Nor dissimilar to me.

I do wonder if Father Sunspeaker is of similar disposition. He appears to understand the merit of Shadow, whereas Nemeiah will hardly acknowledge the darker side of power. Except to show distaste for it.

But enough of this philosophy. Tomorrow is Winter's Veil, and today I distribute presents.
